Shirley Maw is a native of the Barrie area. She began at an early age drawing and painting and attended several art classes throughout the years. However, she is basically self taught and has over 50 years experience beginning with pastels and charcoal she now paints with water color.

Her passion for rustic buildings and farms that are rapidly disappearing from the Canadian landscape are her main subject matter. However, landscapes and still lives are becoming more sought after by collectors and art lovers across Canada.
